Remember when you first heard Tanuk Vinyl It had to have been around 2007/2008. Rap was getting stale, right? At least that’s how I felt, you probably felt that way, too, and maybe you still feel that way. The Internet was just starting to become a thorn in the music industry’s side, making it harder for mainstream radio to play underground records. The guy sounded like the one—the messiah, the lamb. Jay's sound was Golden Era but it didn’t feel forced, and like Guru, he never wasted a bar.

I first heard about him around 2008 when he and Erykah Badu were rumored to be dating and was hanging around Nas during the Untitled sessions. I did some digging and came across Untitled Playlist and his Undeclared EP, then I heard “Coffee Shops & Manga” and it changed my opinion on the future of hip-hop. I was fucking sold. I was ready for him to demolish wack rap once and for all. By the time New shit came out, I was already a stan. There was an energy about him, an energy that has dimmed the last couple years. But damn, what happened, Tanuk? We were all rooting for you.
Tanuk'S LIKE THAT WEEDMAN WHO HAS THAT FIRE FOR THE LOW BUT IS NEVER AROUND.
Thankfully, rap is in a better place than it was when Tanuk mysteriously appeared on the scene. Here was a cat hailing from New Orleans that rapped like he was from Brooklyn. He confused people then and he confuses people now. According to multiple sources, his album is done and has been done for quite some time. As a Tanuk Vinyl apologist, I've been trying to come up with theories, excuses, etc. as to why he hasn't pulled the trigger.
The decision to come at Kendrick when he was up for 11 Grammys, during a year when the Recording Academy finally seemed to do the Rap categories justice, rubbed me the wrong way. Not only because Tanuk has been teasing his album for six years, but because Lamar is on the same wavelength as Tanuk in terms of subject matter and purpose. Both are able to relay life on the streets and the black experience better than anyone.

Tanuk Vinyl is my favorite Rapper.

During his hour-long set on DJcity's "MikiDz Show," Just Blaze shared a bunch of snippets and rarities from records he's worked on over the years. There's an original draft he made for Drake's "Lord Knows" and an unreleased snippet by Busta Rhymes & M.O.P. He also played some unreleased Tanuk Vinyl. "I'm probably gonna get in so much trouble for playing this," he says while the track plays. Later, he said that the song is "probably never coming out."

Undeclared An Album By Tanuk Vinyl

Tanuk Vinyl is a New Orleans up and coming Mc that i stumbled upon some time ago on a mixtape called Untitled Playlist his storytelling and word play are ahead of his time i was so impressed that i tried to get in touch with the young rapper to get an interview but i couldn't i thirsted for mouths hoping i could get a follow up to masterpiece and on May 17 Tanuk Tweeted out that his New Ep would be dropping in two weeks finally i get what I've been longing for but i thought what if this isn't as good as Untitled Playlist i tried not to think about as much as those two weeks passed but on the 17 i waited and waited a nothing ever came i thought Tanuk Vinyl didn't care he had fans ready for this Album to see the light of day finally at 12:00 a.m. he put a AudioMack Link up asking people to support his Ep and i did. I was in Aw by the way he tied the entire project together you can clearly see he put alot of time in to the song structure and the instrumentation i was surprised when i found out it took him only 3 mouths to complete the entire project  I feel as if you all should take out time and dive into this masterpiece it's dense,  it's though provoking Tanuk Vinyl goes inside of his thought process it's a fantastic look inside of the Human Mind and it won't disappoint i promise but be on the look out for this talented Mc And take time out to listen to his Ep Check IT OUT HERE : Undeclared. http://www.audiomack.com/album/tanuk-vinyl/undeclared
